Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - Greens and CDU want to make the southwest a key place for business start-ups.

"Baden-Württemberg should become one of the leading start-up hotspots in Europe," said the leaders around Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann (Greens) and CDU state head Thomas Strobl at the presentation of the coalition agreement on Wednesday at the Arena2036 research campus in Stuttgart.

The state's risk finance offering is to be expanded, with the aim of primarily supporting capital-intensive growth finance.

"We focus on particularly promising start-ups that are also geared towards ecological and social goals."

Women in particular should also be encouraged to start a business.

The aim is to double the proportion of female start-up founders by the end of the legislative period.
