Frankfurt / Main (dpa / lhe) - Eintracht Frankfurt won the catch-up game in the women's Bundesliga against SGS Essen on Wednesday 3-1 (2-1).

In the duel between the neighbors in the table, Tanja Pawollek (18th minute) took the lead for the hosts.

Just three minutes later, Laura Feiersinger missed the chance to increase.

Essen's goalkeeper Kim-Lea Sindermann saved her penalty.

Laura Freilang (28) did better: They converted another penalty awarded to Eintracht to make it 2-0.

Before the break, Beke Sterner (35th) was able to shorten to 1: 2.

In the 82nd minute, Essen's Nina Räcke made the preliminary decision with an own goal.

Due to bad weather in February and a team quarantine for the Frankfurt women in March, the game between Frankfurt and Essen had to be canceled twice.
