Flensburg (dpa / lno) - The SG Flensburg-Handewitt has lost the table lead in the handball Bundesliga.

The North Germans only played 28:28 (15:15) at Frisch Auf Göppingen on Thursday.

The new front runner is THW Kiel, who won 31:25 (16:12) at HC Erlangen.

In the table, both teams are now at 47: 5 points.

However, both the better goal difference and the direct comparison gained speak for the «zebras».

The best throwers were Hampus Wanne with seven goals for Flensburg and Marcel Schiller and Josip Bozic-Pavlevic with six goals each for Göppingen.

The SG started focused.

Frisch Auf, who had to do without the injured German national player Sebastian Heymann, was constantly following a Flensburg lead.

Circle runner Johannes Golla provided the North Germans with the first three-goal lead with the 14:11 (24th).

But then the guests lost the thread and were lucky that goalkeeper Benjamin Buric saved the draw in the break.

After the break, Göppingen continued to turn up.

At 15:19 (35th) SG coach Maik Machulla took a break to rearrange his team's game.

That was of little use, the Swabian advantage grew to six goals (22: 16/41.).

With an energy performance, the SG came to 28:27 (59th).

But Schiller made a fair draw with a seven-meter throw.
