The man, considered dangerous by the police, had been wanted for several months.

The police eventually found his trace and arrested him Monday in Vénissieux, near Lyon, after the complaint filed by his companion.

The latter, aged 22, lodged a complaint against him at the Dijon police station after being the victim of violence and death threats.

The young woman, pregnant, suffered a temporary incapacity for work of 3 days.

Alerted by the Dijon police, the departmental security of the Rhône realized that the 22-year-old partner, suspected of domestic violence, was a man "considered dangerous" already known to the police.

He was wanted in other cases, starting with his escape from prison, said the Rhône DDSP on Wednesday.

On Monday, the man was arrested and taken into police custody.

During the search carried out at his home, investigators found a blank weapon and cartridges, as well as a tear gas canister.

During his hearing, he admitted to having threatened his partner with death to intimidate her, the police said.

He was to be presented to the Lyon public prosecutor's office on Wednesday for immediate trial.
