Today, Wednesday, India recorded a new record in the number of deaths due to infection with the Coronavirus, while Egypt announced a partial closure of shops, stores and cafes days before the Eid Al-Fitr holiday.

And the Indian Ministry of Health announced that the daily number of deaths from the Coronavirus recorded an increase and reached a record of 3780 during the past 24 hours, while the number of new infections exceeded 382,315.

This comes after the total number of cases in Corona exceeded 20 million, making India the second country to reach this number of injuries after the United States.

However, international experts and non-governmental organizations suggest that the real numbers of people injured and killed by Corona in India "are much greater than the declared figures."

Meanwhile, the Indian government announced the allocation of 6 billion and 700 million dollars in funding for vaccine companies and the medical sector to combat the outbreak of the Corona virus in the country.

Last April, the B.617.1 (B.1.617) mutant, known as the "Indian mutant", was detected, which plunged India into a massive outbreak of the virus and disrupted the health system.

During April alone, India recorded more than 6 million cases of corona.

It is noteworthy that the new mutant has been detected in at least 18 countries, including France, Britain, the United States, Belgium, Switzerland and Italy, according to the World Health Organization.

The Indian version reaches Iran

Iran, the Middle East country most affected by the Corona pandemic, has detected 3 cases of the Indian mutated version of the Corona virus, which is attributed to the large increase in the number of infections in India, according to what the Minister of Health announced on Wednesday.

Minister Saeed Namaki stated, "In Qom Governorate (central Iran), we have identified 3 confirmed cases among Indian nationals in the province," according to what was reported by the ministry's website.

The director of the Ministry's Public Relations Department, Kianoush Jahanpour, confirmed to France Presse that these cases are the first confirmed cases of the Indian mutant in Iran.

The first cases of Corona in Iran were officially recorded in Qom in February 2020.

Since then, the Islamic Republic has become the region most affected by the virus, and since late March, it has recorded a rise in the number of infections and deaths, in what officials described as a "fourth epidemic wave", which is the most severe so far.

Namaki indicated that the wave has gradually started to recede in some governorates.

But he stressed that health workers have become very tired due to fighting the epidemic, calling on people to adhere to preventive measures.

The Corona virus caused the death of more than 73 thousand people, out of two million 591 thousand and 609 infections, according to the figures published by the Iranian Ministry of Health on Wednesday.

Iranian officials, including Namaki, have previously confirmed that the official figures do not fully reflect the actual numbers.

Iran hopes that the national vaccination process, which was officially launched last February, will contribute to combating the outbreak of the epidemic, although it is proceeding at less than the required speed and spread.

Egypt .. Precautionary measures before Eid

In a related context, the Supreme Committee for the Management of the Coronavirus Crisis in Egypt announced, on Wednesday, a partial closure of shops, stores and cafes for a period of two weeks, as well as the closure of beaches, parks and parks during the Eid al-Fitr holiday, which begins next week.

Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly said in a press conference after chairing the committee meeting, "Starting tomorrow, Thursday, for a period of two weeks, all shops, malls, cafes, restaurants, cinemas and theaters, and the like, will be closed from 9 pm to work to reduce crowding."

He added that it was decided to prohibit holding any conferences, events, artistic celebrations or parties in any facility in order to ensure that matters remain stable during this period.

He indicated that there will be a complete closure of parks, parks and public beaches, and a limitation of the use of tour buses during the Eid al-Fitr holidays, from May 12 to the 16 of the same month.

"Citizens must be convinced that we are going through exceptional circumstances imposed by the pandemic, especially since the current wave of this epidemic is characterized by a very large increase in the number of infected cases," he said.

He explained that during the last period, it was noticed that the citizens were indifferent to the commitment to apply the precautionary measures.

Madbouly stressed that Eid prayers will only be allowed in the mosques where Friday prayers are currently held, with the prohibition on accompanying children.

On Tuesday, the Egyptian Health Ministry announced - in a statement - the registration of 1,090 new cases of the virus and 60 deaths, with continuing jumps in the daily toll after crossing the threshold of a thousand infections days ago.

America .. Expectations of the virus receding

In the United States, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention expected that Corona infections will witness a sharp decrease in the country by next July, if the success of vaccination efforts continues at the country level.

The researchers used scenario modeling techniques to present long-term forecasts of potential trends in Corona cases, hospital transportation, and deaths in data released by the center today, Wednesday, in the weekly report on illness and deaths, according to Bloomberg News.

High vaccination rates and compliance with general sanitation measures showed a sharp decline expected by July.

The researchers cautioned that the results should not be viewed as predictions of the most likely outcomes.

But it aims to help plan and direct public health efforts.

Turkey .. Significant decrease in injuries

In Turkey, the Turkish Minister of Health, Fakhruddin Kujah, said that "his country has witnessed a remarkable decrease in the rate of daily infections with the Coronavirus, following the imposition of new measures and the transition to complete closure recently."

Koca indicated that the past 15 days have witnessed a remarkable decline in the daily infection rate with the Coronavirus, as a result of the new measures and the complete closure.

And he expected that the results of the new measures will appear, during the coming period, on death rates and critical cases of patients.

In a related context, the Turkish minister said that his country had concluded an agreement with China to supply 100 million new doses of the anti-Corona vaccine, provided that the aforementioned number would reach Turkey in two batches, each with 50 million doses.

As of Tuesday evening, Turkey had recorded 4 million 929 thousand and 118 cases of Coronavirus, of which 41,527 died, while 4 million and 554 thousand and 37 had recovered.

On Thursday, Turkey began implementing a complete lockdown for 3 weeks as part of the measures to confront Corona in all of the country's 81 states.

The complete closure will continue from 7 pm on April 29, until 5 am on Monday, May 17, according to an Interior Ministry circular.
