The Chinese Embassy: expressed concern and regret that Chinese telecom companies have not been approved to participate in the 5G communication experiment with Indian telecom operators

Xinhua News Agency, New Delhi, May 5 (Reporter Hu Xiaoming) Wang Xiaojian, spokesperson of the Chinese Embassy in India, said on the 5th that China expressed concern and regret that Chinese telecom companies were not approved to participate in 5G communication experiments with Indian telecom operators.

In an announcement issued by the Ministry of Telecommunications of India on the 4th, Chinese telecom companies were not approved to participate in 5G communication experiments with Indian telecom service operators.

Wang Xiaojian made the above remarks when answering a reporter's question on this matter.

Wang Xiaojian said that relevant Chinese companies have been operating in India for many years, providing a large number of jobs and contributing to the construction of India's communications infrastructure.

The practice of excluding Chinese telecommunications companies from cooperation not only harms the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese companies, but also hinders the improvement of the Indian business environment and is not conducive to the innovation and development of related industries.

He said: "China hopes that India will do more that is conducive to mutual trust and cooperation between the two countries, and provide an open, fair, just, and non-discriminatory investment and business environment for market players from various countries, including China, to invest and operate in India."
