Munich (dpa / lby) - According to Caritas Bavaria, socially disadvantaged population groups should be given preference in the corona vaccination.

This applies in particular if the prioritization is soon to fall as announced.

"What was true before the pandemic is slowly becoming explosive: people who live in precarious circumstances are exposed to a significantly increased risk of infection," emphasized the state director of the Catholic welfare association, Bernhard Piendl, on Wednesday in Munich.

Socio-economic framework conditions would have a significant impact on people's health.

"This often results in cramped living conditions or language barriers due to a migration background," explained Piendl.

"However, vaccinations must not depend on social status and network, or whether you have a doctor in your circle of friends."

Migrants in particular need special address and support.

For example, there is great uncertainty in the communal accommodation for asylum seekers.
