Erfurt (dpa / th) - A burglar stayed unnoticed for several nights in a room in an Erfurt hotel.

In another room, the uninvited guest brushed teeth and drank coffee, the police said on Wednesday.

When the employees noticed the break-in, the burglar had already disappeared.

In addition to the unpaid accommodation costs, the hotel suffered property damage of more than 3000 euros, according to the police, because both room doors with fire protection devices were badly damaged.

According to a police spokeswoman, investigators secured evidence that could lead to the identification of the previously unknown intruder.

Due to the corona pandemic, hotels in Thuringia are emptier than usual. Currently, only business stays are allowed and tourist overnight stays are prohibited.
