The launch of the new sharing feature on Trump's website comes ahead of Wednesday's decision by an independent watchdog set up by Facebook to investigate whether the ex - president's suspension from the platform should remain or not.

Twitter keeps track

Net giants such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Youtube shut down Trump from his platforms shortly after his supporters stormed the Capitol Congress building on January 6.

The new shared Trump posts will therefore have vigilant eyes on them, Twitter announces.

It is admittedly allowed to share material on the site, as long as it does not violate its rules - but it is not allowed to try to circumvent a suspension, for example by starting a new account with similar content, says a spokesperson.

Ported forever

According to Reuters, Facebook has so far not commented on Trump's new sharing function and how to handle that type of post.

In February, Twitter, which Trump used extensively during his time as president, announced that he would never have access to the platform again - not even if he ran for president again.

Trump had 89 million followers on Twitter.
