Munich (dpa / lby) - Even without Oktoberfest, Wiesn fans will not stay on dry land: As in the previous year, there will be Oktoberfest beer despite the Oktoberfest being canceled.

"It will definitely be brewed," said the managing director of the Munich Breweries Association, Manfred Newrzella, of the German press agency.

«So far there has been Oktoberfest beer every year.

There won't be a Munich Oktoberfest where you can serve it. "

The specially brewed beer is also served in restaurants, it is available in stores and is sold all over the world.

"The original is valued all over the world," said Newrzella.

Around 7.3 million liters of beer ran through thirsty throats at the last Oktoberfest 2019 at the Volksfest - but that is only part of the beer actually brewed.

With the Oktoberfest beer from Hofbräu Munich, for example, even in years with a regular Oktoberfest, the lion's share goes to trade, export and gastronomy - only 15 percent of Hofbräu beer is drunk at the Oktoberfest, said Hofbräu spokesman Stefan Hempl.

Already 5000 hectoliters of Hofbräu Oktoberfest beer are on their way around the world, including the USA.

Brewing of the Hofbräuhaus Wiesnbier, which is sold in Germany, is slated to begin shortly.
