Landsberg am Lech (dpa) - The commercial kitchen supplier Rational has earned more at the start of the year thanks to better business and savings measures recently.
The company remains cautious for the year as a whole.
It remains to be seen whether the positive development in incoming orders is sustainable or whether it is a matter of short-term catch-up effects, the company announced in Landsberg on Wednesday.
In the first quarter, sales fell by seven percent year-on-year to EUR 167.7 million, but earnings before interest and taxes increased by 24 percent to EUR 32.2 million thanks to lower costs.
The bottom line was a profit of 24.4 million euros - 46 percent more than a year ago.
