Schwerin (dpa / mv) - The Schwerin public prosecutor's office has started investigations against the doctor, whose practice visitors were sent to a full week in corona quarantine.

The authority announced on Wednesday that there is an initial suspicion of a criminal violation of the Infection Protection Act.

The background is evidence according to which medical personnel in the doctor's office have repeatedly violated the obligation to wear a mouth and nose cover.

The information came in particular from the Schwerin health department.

The doctor had stated that he was not aware of any violations of corona requirements in the practice.

The city of Schwerin had sent all patients and their companions who had been in the surgical practice for more than ten minutes between April 21 and 28 to a 14-day quarantine by general decree. People were asked to get tested. By Tuesday afternoon, there were 126 results, all of which were negative. So far, 166 people have been tested, it said. Further results should be available in the coming days. According to the information, no contact could initially be made to 34 patients because either no or no current telephone number was available. The health department will contact these people in writing.

An employee of the practice tested positive for the corona virus on April 30.

According to the city administration, she worked there from April 21 to 28 during her contagious time.

Accordingly, 237 patients are said to have visited the practice during this period, plus an unknown number of accompanying persons.

The doctor himself was in quarantine during the period in question.

A substitute doctor worked in the practice during this time.
