Hamburg (dpa / lno) - The Hamburg Towers have won their last home game in the regular season of the basketball Bundesliga.

With 93:91 (49:40), the team of coach Pedro Calles defeated the BG Göttingen on Tuesday evening thanks to a successful close-range throw by TJ Shorts in the final second.

Despite the success, the Hamburg table remains seventh.

Shorts was also the hosts' best thrower with 24 points.

After a good start, the Hanseatic League, which again had only ten players in the squad, was already ahead with 21:12.

After that, the hosts lost the rhythm of the game.

In this phase, Göttingen scored 14 points in a row before the Hanseatic League again recorded a basketball success and was able to regain the lead a little later.

After the break, the Towers initially kept the guests at a distance.

A good eight minutes before the end, the Calles team had a score of 81:68.

But like in the first round, Göttingen came back again and even took the lead again.

A second before the final whistle, however, it was Shorts that made the decision in favor of the Towers.

At the end of the main round, the Towers still have to compete at Frankfurt Skyliners on Sunday.
