Hanover (dpa / lni) - The Hanover Chamber of Commerce and Industry has welcomed the easing announced by the Lower Saxony state government.

"For the catering, hotel and tourism businesses that have been closed for months, the long-missed opening perspective is now finally emerging," emphasized Maike Bielfeldt, General Manager of the Hanover Chamber of Commerce, on Tuesday.

The easing is basically an important signal for an economic restart.

However, companies in municipalities with an incidence value of over 100 are still excluded from the relaxation, which currently also affects all companies in the Hanover region.

"Despite all the joy about the easing, this is partly falling short of the expectations of the economy and will slow down the restart," said Bielfeldt.

Lower Saxony wants to start easing with a step-by-step plan from next Monday (May 10th).

In counties and large cities with a stable seven-day incidence below 100, trade, gastronomy, tourism and outdoor cultural events should start up again.

The prerequisite is a daily negative corona rapid test or proof of a complete vaccination against the corona virus.
