Covid-19 in France: the Scientific Council in favor of a health pass

The Scientific Council approves the health pass, an additional tool to fight the spread of the coronavirus, and recommends its use in digital format.

In an opinion sent to the government on Monday evening and made public on Tuesday, May 4, the Scientific Council validates the health pass, a document attesting to a vaccination, a negative test or an immunity acquired after an infection with Covid-19 .

But, if the principle of a health pass, used on a temporary and exceptional basis is approved, the members of this independent advisory body issue recommendations as to its use.

Indeed, there is no question of requiring it in the daily life of the French, for example to go to a restaurant, to the cinema or to the theater… On the other hand, the health pass will be compulsory from June 9 to access the events. bringing together more than 1,000 people.

No zero risk

Scientists also recommend using the digital format of the health pass available in the TousAntiCovid app.

Because, unlike the paper format, the digital version does not give access to personal or medical data.

Finally, the Council recalls that the health pass does not guarantee a zero risk of infection with the coronavirus.

It therefore recommends that the French maintain barrier gestures, in particular wearing a mask and ventilating closed spaces.
