The conspirators ignite.

Part of the Saint-Pierre Saint-Paul Catholic Church, in the Wazemmes district of Lille, was damaged by fire on Monday evening.

If we still do not know the exact causes of the disaster, some Internet users have started to advance dubious theories and relay false information.

In the aftermath of the fire, police investigators are still investigating whether the fire was intentional or accidental.

No thesis is thus yet privileged on the origin of the fire of this church whose framework had just been renovated.

Except that while the building was still smoking, we could already see many suspicious, even accusatory tweets blooming: “French people, defend your churches!

";

"Here, another accidental fire in a church, surprising, isn't it?"

";

“Silence Radio, it begins to smell the Roussi for our Religious Heritage.

Hush ”.

"False denunciation is a crime"

So many questions which, at this stage of the investigation, are not based on anything. But there is worse. Also on Twitter, a user relayed a photo taken during the firefighters' intervention on which we see three people, young men, in the foreground. One films the scene and two others seem to be leaving. The faces are circled in red and the user says that these three men are suspected and wanted.

A "fake news" which forced the Departmental Directorate of Public Security of the North (DDSP) to publish a denial!

“No, these people are not wanted following the fire at the Saint-Pierre-Saint-Paul church in Lille,” the DDSP said on Twitter.

The police urged Internet users not to relay this information and recalled that "false denunciation is an offense [...] punishable by 6 months in prison and a € 7,500 fine".
