Maintal (dpa / lhe) - The connection technology specialist Norma benefited in the first quarter of 2021 from the sustained recovery in the car markets and good business in water management.

Sales and profitability increased significantly compared to the same period of the previous year, as the supplier, listed in the SDax index, announced on Wednesday in Maintal near Frankfurt.

Revenues rose by 13 percent to 286.4 million euros, and on their own they increased by almost 18 percent.

Earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) climbed 69 percent to 31.5 million euros.

The bottom line was an almost doubled surplus of 20.3 million euros for the first three months.

Norma also benefited from savings in the course of the ongoing renovation.

Group boss Michael Schneider expressed his satisfaction: "The good business result of the first quarter confirms our positive outlook for the next few months and our expectations for profitable growth in the full year 2021."

Norma confirmed the forecast for the current year.

For example, sales from our own resources should increase in the low double-digit percentage range in the current year.
