Berlin (dpa / bb) - An anonymous bomb threat was received against a left-wing alternative housing project in Berlin-Spandau early on Wednesday morning.

According to a police spokesman, the building on Jagowstrasse was first cleared and then searched.

The approximately 35 residents were looked after on site by the Berlin fire brigade.

The police did not find an explosive object during their search.

After the mission, the residents were able to go back to their apartments.

According to the police, the building has been the focus of criminal activities several times in the past.

At the beginning of April, strangers set furniture, including a wooden kitchen shelf and a sofa, on fire in the hallway.

The residential project is “Jagow15”.

The project is part of the “Mietshäuser Syndikat”, a network of over 150 autonomous, self-managed rental houses, house projects and project initiatives across Germany.

There are a total of 20 such residential projects in Berlin.
