Turin (AP) - Italy's anti-mafia investigators have taken action against a drug dealer network of 'Ndrangheta, which is also said to have done business in Germany, in large-scale raids.

The Italian news agency Ansa reported on Wednesday.

Several suspects have been arrested.

The blow against the Mafia organization was led by the public prosecutor in Turin in Piedmont.

According to the newspaper “La Repubblica”, the 'Ndrangheta gangs had ties to southern Germany, to Baden-Württemberg in the Lake Constance area.

In addition, the criminals had connections to Spain and Romania.

According to the information, several hundred investigators were involved in the operation.

The clans are accused of international drug trafficking.

Real estate was also confiscated.

The 'Ndrangheta is one of the most powerful Mafia organizations in the world and has long had a foothold in Germany.

It is native to the Calabria region, the tip of the Italian "boot".

It dominates the international drug trade, but also earns its money with arms deals, money laundering, in the construction sector and in other branches of the economy.
