Dijon, dolphin of Monaco in the French Elite basketball championship, bowed heavily to the poorly classified Pau-Orthez on Tuesday (81-54), while Asvel did not tremble to win their late match against Roanne (101-93).

The JDA suffered from a catastrophic address, especially in the second quarter where the Dijonnais scored only six points.

They who remained on six consecutive victories in the league, series only interrupted by the defeat in the final of the Coupe de France against Asvel on Saturday April 24 (77-61), prepared in the worst possible way the reception of Monaco, leader of the standings and recent winner of the Eurocup, in their next match on Wednesday 12 May.

The defeat prevents them from putting pressure on the players of the Rock: the Monegasques certainly have two victories less, but have played five games less than them.

The victory allows the Pau to regain hope for their maintenance: with their seventh victory in the league, they came back to Chalon-sur-Saône, defeated in the evening after extra time by Limoges (96-95).

They are fifteenth, even if they still remain under the threat of the seventeenth and first relegation, Châlon-Reims, defeated by Le Mans (77-72)

Among the pursuers of Monaco, Asvel did not slow down by winning against a team from Roanne catchy until the last quarter.

With their fourth victory in five matches since the end of their Euroleague campaign in early April, the Villeurbannais are back in the championship.

Asvel has the third place of Strasbourg in sight and would return to the height of the podium in the event of victories in its late matches, the first from Friday against Portel.

The Northerners, now eleventh, have moved a little further from eighth place, synonymous with play-offs after their defeat on the wire against Nanterre 76-75.
