While the high school and teacher unions are mobilizing again Wednesday for the cancellation of the 2021 bac exams, the Minister of Education, Jean-Michel Blanquer, receives them during the day to discuss possible additional arrangements.

Several hypotheses are already being considered.

They protest against the maintenance of the bac and BTS tests despite the Covid-19 crisis: the high school and teacher unions are organizing a demonstration in front of the National Assembly, Wednesday at 2 p.m., on the initiative, in particular, of the Federation of parents' councils (FCPE).

Faced with these protests, the government is not leaning for a cancellation but for adjustments, as confirmed by Jean-Michel Blanquer on our antenna on Monday.

Europe 1 takes stock of the new measures envisaged by the Minister of National Education, who is to receive union representatives.

A sheet attesting to the points of the program covered

What can the minister decide at the end of this meeting?

At this stage, for the grand oral, the chosen track is that of a possibility given to the student to be able to present a sheet signed by his specialty teacher, attesting to the program points that could not be seen in class, but also the conditions for preparing for the exam.

In particular, he can specify whether the year was half in distance or in full face-to-face.

The same goes for the oral exams of the French baccalaureate in first.

The form would, in this case, be completed by the French teacher.

This is the easiest option to organize.

The minister will have to decide quickly

Second proposal: prepare only one question for the grand oral instead of the two currently planned.

Problem: this would create a lot of constraints for the composition of the juries.

Another hypothesis, proposed by the National Union of Secondary Teachers (Snes) and high school organizations, could be to remove the third part of the grand oral, focused on the professional project and guidance.

Finally for the written French and Philosophy exams, the idea would be to keep them as they are.

On the other hand, if the pupil obtains a mark lower than his average of continuous assessment, the best mark will be retained.

In any case, the minister will have to decide quickly.

The idea remains to maintain these tests in real examination conditions, without however putting the pupils in too great difficulty.
