The Dax prosecutor's office confirmed on Tuesday that it had opened a judicial investigation for acts of violence against a five-month-old baby.
The mother, aged in her twenties, was taken into police custody for several hours at the start of the week before being released and placed under judicial supervision during the investigation, specifies

Last Saturday, the baby was taken care of by the pediatric emergencies of the hospital of Dax, in the Landes.
During examinations, doctors discovered a double fracture in one of the arms.
They decided to alert the authorities.
The young woman did not acknowledge the facts but gave no explanation for the condition of her child.
The father, already suspected of mistreating the other child of the family, is currently in detention.
At the request of social services, the baby was given to a foster family.
