On Tuesday morning, Wetterhälsan opened its drop-in vaccination at the Elmia field for people in the age group 55-59.

About a hundred cars formed a queue that wound around the field.

One of those who sat in a car queue to get the first syringe was Pelle Lindell.

- I feel that it is a bit historical, it tingles a little in the stomach.

I have waited a long time and it feels great now, he says.

Nurse Cecilia Bengtsson had a hectic morning but felt that many were positive about the vaccination.

- I have never stuck so many who have been so happy, she says and laughs.

According to Lisa Wretmo, who is responsible for the covid vaccination at Wetterhälsan, they will vaccinate around 450 people during the day.

But they could have vaccinated significantly more.

- I think we could vaccinate up to 2,000 people a day here.

But unfortunately there are not that many vaccines right now, she says.

Every third county resident has received the first syringe

According to Region Jönköping County, 34 percent of all residents over the age of 18 were vaccinated until last week.

But it may take some time before everyone is vaccinated.

- As it is now, it will take quite a long time to vaccinate the age group 55-59, because it is quite large.

It will be a few weeks before we release the next age group which is 50-55, says Lisa Wretmo.
