- It's serious.

Some countries have vaccinated all staff as they are at the forefront of this pandemic, but that is not the case here, says Knut Bodin, chief safety representative at Saco.

The criticism is based on the fact that Region Uppsala has changed its vaccine priority, following clarification from the Swedish Public Health Agency, to only apply to staff who work in somatic inpatient care and care for inpatients with a high risk of developing a serious illness.

Must wait until phase 4

Other staff are prioritized down to the general age-divided vaccination in phase 4.

- So you make a difference by turning a patient over and examining a patient.

In the latter, you also work close to the face and need to be protected, says Knut Bodin.

The unions Saco and Vision do not believe that Region Uppsala protects its employees sufficiently from covid-19, and have therefore submitted a request for an injunction or ban to the Swedish Work Environment Authority.

"Team to protect staff"

But if FHM has changed to these recommendations, then is it reasonable to follow them?

- No.

Not if there is a work environment law that employers must protect their staff.

There is a difference between law and recommendation.

- It is only to be hoped that the Brazilian and Indian mutation will not come before the vaccination is complete.

In the clip above, Mikael Köhler, director of health and medical care, comments on the criticism of the vaccination priority.
