Pomellen / Frankfurt / Oder (dpa) - A thief wanted by an arrest warrant was caught by the federal police on Tuesday morning on Autobahn 11 from Stettin (Szczecin) to Berlin in Western Pomerania.
The 45-year-old man was sentenced to 14 months in prison in 2020 by a court in Frankfurt / Oder for theft in a particularly serious case and stolen goods, as the federal police announced on Tuesday.
However, he had not started the sentence and was therefore wanted by an arrest warrant.
The driver from Greifenhagen (Gryfino) was noticed by the officials during a control in Pomellen in Western Pomerania.
The police took the 45-year-old, who was convicted of car theft, to a prison in Wriezen in Brandenburg.
