Foreign media reported that dozens of people were killed or injured when an elevated railway collapsed on the night of the 3rd local time in Mexico City, the capital of Mexico, and a train crashed.

Reuters quoted city officials as saying that 13 people were killed and 70 were injured, and some local media said more than 100 were injured.

At the scene, the number of deaths is expected to increase further as police and rescue teams are urgently dispatched to carry out rescue operations and patient treatment.

Mexican authorities tweeted that the accident occurred at Olivos Station on Metro Line 12 in Mexico City.

The Mexico City subway is used by more than 4 million people a day and is said to be the largest in the Americas after the New York City subway.
