Göppingen (dpa) - The software provider Teamviewer was able to grow significantly in the first quarter despite the strong prior-year quarter.

The so-called billings, a key figure for the expected sales of the next twelve months from invoices issued, rose year-on-year by 22.5 percent to 146.6 million euros, as the MDax company announced on Tuesday in Göppingen.

Adjusted for currency effects, it would have been an increase of 26 percent.

Adjusted for special effects, earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization increased unexpectedly by 22 percent to 90 million euros.

In terms of sales, the increase in the number of paying subscribers did not come into its own because of the changeover to fixed-term contracts; it rose by around 15 percent to 118.3 million euros.

CEO Oliver Steil confirmed the forecast for the current year.

The company initially did not provide any information on the net result.
