Potsdam (dpa / bb) - Brandenburg's state government wants to take on new debts of a maximum of around 750 million euros because of the Corona crisis, according to information from the Kenya coalition.

"This supplementary budget is essentially based on additional expenditure in connection with coping with the corona pandemic," said CDU parliamentary group leader Jan Redmann on Tuesday in Potsdam.

According to the CDU finance politician Steven Breetz, an additional volume of around 500 million euros is planned.

So far, 235 million euros are planned in the budget.

According to the Ministry of Finance, around 180 million euros of this had already been approved in April, including the compensation of failed daycare parental contributions with 38 million euros.

The cabinet wanted to discuss it on Tuesday.

The "Lausitzer Rundschau" reported on the plans on Sunday.
