Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - The new football team Stuttgart Surge has filled two key positions with former college players from the USA.
For the first season in the newly founded European League of Football (ELF), the former "college stars" Dale Warren (25) and Joshua Tapscott (25) have been signed, according to an ELF announcement on Tuesday.
The linebacker and the running back will play the first ELF game at the Barcelona Dragons with the Swabians on June 19th.
In addition to Stuttgart, five other German teams (Berlin, Hamburg, Leipzig, Frankfurt, Cologne) will compete in the new Europa League.
Then there are the Panthers Wroclaw from Poland and the Dragons from Spain.
The Stuttgart team play their home games in the GAZi stadium.
They should take place regardless of whether spectators can be admitted by then or not.
