Wiesbaden (dpa / lhe) - In view of the progress in vaccination and falling numbers of new infections, Hessian business associations are calling for rapid opening steps for trade and gastronomy.

In their opinion, for example, an opening of restaurants, tourist overnight stays and other facilities for retailers should be envisaged.

The state government has received a corresponding proposal, announced the Hessian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HIHK), the Hesse trade association and the Dehoga gastronomy association in a joint statement on Tuesday in Wiesbaden.

In counties with a stable number of less than 100 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants, the associations demand, among other things, the opening of outdoor restaurants with appointments.

The interiors of restaurants should therefore be accessible with a negative corona test.

According to data from the Robert Koch Institute on Tuesday (as of 3:10 a.m.), the so-called seven-day incidence in Hesse has fallen to 146.3.

“Every responsible opening step is practical economic aid.

It also reduces the burden on the public purse, ”argued HIHK President Eberhard Flammer.

Since the current Hessian corona regulation expires this Sunday (9th May), now is the right time to set the course for openings nationwide.
