Réunion Pélagique Traiteur announced in a press release on Tuesday the withdrawal of a batch of vacuum-packed tuna trays sold in mainland France in Grand Frais stores due to the potential presence of listeria.

It is 100 g smoked albacore tuna, sold in vacuum-packed trays under the brand "Le Fumoir du Poissonnier", with the manufacturer code FR-974.07.063-CE and whose use-by date is May 16, 2021.

This production batch was sold in mainland France from April 12 to 28, 2021 at the retailer Magasin Grand Frais, specifies the manufacturer Réunion Pélagique Traiteur, which can be contacted by consumers on 06 92 25 60 06.

The manufacturer invites people who have consumed this tuna in a tray and "have a fever, isolated or accompanied by headaches, and muscle aches (...) to consult their doctor by notifying him of this consumption".

It is recommended that other people who have this product not to consume and destroy it, or get a refund.

Listeria is a bacterium that can cause complications in the most vulnerable: young children, the elderly, patients with low immune defenses, pregnant women.

The incubation period for listeriosis can be up to eight weeks.
