Berlin (dpa / bb) - According to Berlin's Governing Mayor Michael Müller, easing of the corona measures in the city is possible in the foreseeable future.

There were no decisions on this at the Senate meeting on Tuesday.

However, the SPD politician promised that easing should be discussed at the next meeting of the Senate members.

"In the next week we will specifically deal with what can be offered, of course mainly in the open air," said Müller.

It is about offers for culture, sport and outdoor catering.

The Senate is preparing for it.

The prerequisite is that the number of infections continues to fall.

At the same time, the Governing Mayor warned against excessive expectations.

"If things are made possible, they will continue to be accompanied by rules," he emphasized.

"A cultural event in the open air will only be possible to a limited extent, with a few people, with a distance and hygiene rules."

He is convinced that this will not change quickly.

"We need these rules for a long time, even with lower numbers of infections," said Müller.

The seven-day incidence, which indicates how many people are newly infected per 100,000 inhabitants in one week, was 121.7 in Berlin on Monday.

According to the federal emergency brake, the 100 mark is an important threshold value.
