life of Luis Miguel
has become an obsession for millions of people.
If the first season of the Netflix series kept us hooked with
the villain Luisito Rey
and the sweet Marcela
, the second continues to delve into the incredible life of the
Sun of Mexico
and all the satellites that revolved around it.
"The series has been a social phenomenon," says Spanish journalist
Javier León Herrera
, the author of the biography on which
Luis Miguel
is based
, the series.
He himself has become a celebrity in Mexico, Chile or Argentina, where they take him to prime-time shows to talk about the singer's secrets.
"More than one would have ended up falling, but Luis Miguel, given how badly he has been, has shown that he has great strength and resilience," he says.

has forged a complicated personality, he is very hermetic
. He has a small but very loyal circle of friends, which has helped him a lot to get out of the hole he was in a few years ago. He and I we have a relationship of mutual respect and a very professional treatment, "he tells LOC from Ayna, his town, in Albacete, where he has been living for more than a year.
León Herrera found in Luis Miguel the perfect character for a journalist like him.

The series is based on the first of the books, which he wrote almost by chance in 1997. "I found out that
there was a mess with the ashes of Luisito Rey, the father.
I took my camera and
went to Cádiz
. As a result of that I realized that
there was a very deep story that had not been told
and I began to investigate. I spent 14 months investigating until I published the book. " 20 years later they called him to tell him that Luis Miguel wanted it to be the book on which the Netflix series was based:

León assures that he has never received any indication from the singer or his environment to change a single comma in the story: "They have never told me anything. Of course, I have a red line of self-censorship because

".
In this book, many of the questions about the star's life are clarified, such as the
relationship he maintains with his brothers, Alejandro and Sergio.
"With Álex you can see it, but with Sergio he has no relationship," he says.
Alejandro (49) denied his father and
renounced the Galician surname
to adopt that of his mother,
Basteri
.
He is the only Spaniard of the three (he was born in Cádiz) and has developed a
successful career as an entrepreneur in Mexico
, investing in construction and gas stations.
He is very active in social networks, where he usually posts
images of his mother, who has
disappeared (dead, the writer clarifies) since 1986.

He is the father of two children: the eldest,
Isabella Sofía
(16), is the result of his relationship with the Nicaraguan
Alexandra Alcocer,
whom he met when the two were studying at the University of California.

While Álex maintains a very active profile in networks and is seen with Luis Miguel in
concerts and tours
, very little is known about the little brother.
"Sergio has made it very clear that he does not want to know anything and that
he does not want to have a public life,
" the writer clarifies.
"Luis Miguel and he had a
very strong argument 20 years ago in New York,
where they had met to decide the
boy's
university future
, and they already broke off the relationship." Sergio wanted to do Anthropology in England but Luis Miguel preferred that he study Law at Harvard.
According to León Herrera, the singer came to the appointment very angry because
Mariah Carey's mother had called
him to tell him that her daughter, with whom he had broken the relationship, was
admitted to a hospital
. He went to visit him but was prevented from entering. "Luis Miguel was very upset by the rudeness when he met with his brother. They argued, they both have a lot of character, and Luis Miguel decided to stop financing him. Sergio had to leave the United States and go to Guadalajara.

and has denied that he was a singer although, he says, he has the same beautiful voice as his famous brother.
León confirms Sergio's artistic side: "He sings very well and plays the piano, but he has not wanted to dedicate himself to music."
