[Explanation] A depression called "Dawadang" in Pingtang County, Guizhou Province has attracted the attention of the international astronomy community in recent years. The world's largest single-aperture radio telescope (FAST) was built here and entered trial operation in September 2016 , Debugging stage.

On March 31, 2021, the "Chinese Sky Eye" was officially opened to astronomers around the world.

　　On the eve of the "May Fourth Movement", at the media interview on "The Youth Power of China's Eyes", a number of young scientific and technological workers involved in engineering design and construction told reporters their stories with the "China Eyes".

And the beginning of these stories cannot be avoided in the difficult environment of Dawodong at the beginning of the construction.

　　In Dawotai, we live in a very rudimentary work shed. We stayed here for almost 20 days. At that time, the conditions of the construction site were incomparable to those of now, and the water we consumed was all surface water.

If you live for more than ten days, the quilt covered can feel like a quilt that can squeeze out of water. If you live for more than ten days, you will get all kinds of eczema and so on. In fact, we still remember these difficult scenes.

Because of the tight schedule and heavy tasks, long-term separation with family members has become the norm for most members of the "China Sky Eye" team.

　　(20) At the end of 19, I originally wanted to (go home) to celebrate the Spring Festival. At that time, my spouse was also pregnant. She was pregnant for five or six months. At that time, she suffered from high blood sugar during pregnancy.

Originally, the task of debugging was relatively heavy. During that period, I basically didn't play house, and the lover was also a little emotional.

My lover basically didn't accompany her to participate in the intermediate maternity check-up in Beijing. Later, I thought about receiving the scene (for the Spring Festival).

　　[Explanation] The "China Sky Eye" team dares to think and do. The process of design and construction is not only a process of overcoming difficulties, but also a process of various innovative achievements.

Recalling the original design and construction scene again, the details they told were ordinary but touching.

　　Within five days, I want the entire feed support system to move in the sky, and all the acceptance indicators must be met.

So there were basically days and nights in those few days, and when I was too sleepy, I went back to sleep for a while, and I just insisted on it for maybe two or three days.

In fact, it is also my colleagues. The members of my control group cooperated and finally (acceptance) all the control acceptance tests passed at one time on that day. That night may be the best sleep in my life.

　　[Explanation] The "China Sky Eye" is a modern engineering miracle. It has condensed the efforts of dozens of scientific research institutions and hundreds of scientific researchers, and has gathered the sweat of thousands of front-line workers.

Although the process is difficult, young people involved in engineering design and construction think that this is a lucky process, seeing the large number of scientific achievements produced by the "China Sky Eye" today.

In this process, they stick to their feelings and dare to dream.

I grew up in a family with engineering background, so my career ideal is to deal with a bunch of machinery and equipment, so I can finally tie up with FAST feeder cabin and FAST modern machinery and equipment, I think it is a very lucky the process of.

　　Once listened to teacher Jiang Peng’s report, I felt that one word was particularly appropriate, which was "feelings."

This may be the reason. There are so many scientific and technological workers who can stand loneliness and sit on the bench. They have this kind of scientific sentiment in them, so that they can stick to it.

　　[Explanation] As the world’s largest and most sensitive single-aperture radio telescope, more than 70 high-level papers have been published based on the data of the "China Sky Eye"; the number of pulsars discovered has exceeded 340, which is an international All other telescopes on the site found more than three times the sum of the numbers.

And behind this, young people with feelings and daring to dream have always been in the front and never left.
