Frankfurt / Main (dpa) - After a friendly start to the week, the air on the German stock market is already out on Tuesday.

The Dax fluctuated around its breakeven point in early trading, most recently it was slightly up at 0.06 percent at 15,244.86 points.

The moderate fluctuations in the leading index continued below the record high of 15,501 points.

From the point of view of Landesbank Hessen-Thüringen, it is noteworthy how persistent the Dax has held above the 15,000 mark over the past few weeks.

In the broader German market, the trend on Tuesday was inconsistent: While the SDax with the small values rose by almost half a percent, the MDax with the medium-sized values lost 0.17 percent to 32,856.36 points.

It was weighed down by the price slide of some weighty stocks that have been celebrated as winners of the Corona crisis in recent months.

The Eurozone index EuroStoxx, on the other hand, was up 0.3 percent.
