Leipzig (dpa / sn) - The months-long restrictions burden large parts of the craft in northern Saxony and cloud the future prospects.

According to the Leipzig Chamber of Crafts on Tuesday, with reference to an online survey, 21 percent of companies expect a worse business situation for the summer half-year, 71 percent hope for stability.

“The companies are unsettled by the constantly changing frameworks and political decisions over the past year.

There is no reliable perspective for optimism », said Claus Gröhn, President of the Chamber of Crafts in Leipzig.

The Leipzig Chamber of Crafts questioned 2,500 of the 12,000 member companies in the chamber district, and almost 500 replied. According to this, more and more companies in more and more trades are feeling the effects of stresses such as difficult material procurement and complex hygiene concepts with stricter occupational safety requirements.

"The smaller the company, the greater the burden," emphasized Gröhn.

According to the information, only the construction and finishing trades are optimistic about the future, although they too are increasingly suffering from the rapid price development for construction and raw materials.
