Schönau (dpa / lsw) - hikers and day trippers should be able to cross the Black Forest pastures more safely thanks to signs.

The first such signs were presented on Tuesday at Neumatthof in Wieden (Lörrach district), as announced by the Black Forest biosphere area.

It reads, for example, that selfies with animals are not welcome.

A feeding and picnic ban is also recorded on the signs, along with the tip not to turn your back to cows and to keep your distance from the animals in other ways.

According to the information, each municipality belonging to the biosphere area will receive two large information boards for hikers' parking spaces and three small signs that are intended for pasture crossings on request.

"The guests receive advice on how they can best behave, and the owners can better protect themselves against possible legal risks," said the managing director of the biosphere reserve Walter Kemkes.

The initiative goes back to a meeting of land users, municipalities, associations and clubs in February last year.

The Black Forest biosphere area extends over the districts of Lörrach, Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald and Waldshut.
