Juchen (dpa / lnw) - Due to strong gusts of wind, the A44 between Kreuz Holz and Dreieck Jackerath was completely closed in both directions on Tuesday afternoon for security reasons.
Until the weather changes, the closure should continue, said a spokesman for the Düsseldorf autobahn police.
A semi-trailer had previously been blown over on the section in the direction of Aachen.
Nobody got hurt.
According to the spokesman, this was not the first such incident on the section of the motorway next to the lignite mine.
