Werdohl (dpa) - A 13-year-old boy was exposed as a pawn fraudster in Werdohl in the Sauerland when he tried to redeem a receipt worth 87 euros.
Witnesses observed on Monday how the teenager fiddled with a deposit bottle and a few tools at a vending machine at a discount store.
How the boy had managed to outsmart the deposit machine, a police spokesman could not say on Tuesday.
"There is still a lot in the dark."
In any case, the 13-year-old went to the cash register with the 87-euro deposit to have the money paid out.
Employees called the police, who took the teenager to the guard, informed parents and youth welfare office and are now investigating fraud.
The boy was banned from the discounter.
