Potsdam (dpa / bb) - The mug shot of an alleged DHL extortionist brought dozens of clues to investigators in the first week after it was published.

A total of 55 reports were received, the Brandenburg police and the Potsdam public prosecutor announced on Tuesday.

Accordingly, there are now more than 1000 posters with the photo in Berlin, Frankfurt (Oder) and Potsdam.

The investigators have advertised a reward of up to 5000 euros for valuable information.

About a week and a half ago, the investigators published a picture from a surveillance camera of a man who is suspected of blackmailing the parcel delivery company DHL.

About three and a half years ago, he is said to have sent several explosive mailings to addresses in Berlin and Brandenburg.

Among them was supposed to have been a package bomb that was handed in on the edge of the Potsdam Christmas market.

A letter encrypted as a QR code was discovered in it, with which DHL was extorted a sum of millions in Bitcoins.

The LKA Brandenburg is investigating the suspicion of causing an explosive explosion as well as the serious extortion by robbery.

According to the police, the “Quer” special commission has so far evaluated more than 1,000 traces and clues.
