Nordhausen (dpa / th) - A 17-year-old cyclist was hit by a car and seriously injured in Bad Langensalza in the Unstrut-Hainich district.
As a police spokeswoman said on Tuesday, the cyclist was driving on a sidewalk and wanted to cross the street.
The 17-year-old may not have noticed the car behind him on Monday because he had put on headphones.
Car and cyclist collided, the cyclist suffered serious injuries.
He was taken to the hospital.
