) The Lancet," the deputies stressed.

At the same time, the deputies added that "in scientific circles" such articles are allegedly "accompanied by criticism" because "data and transparency" in them, according to experts, is "not enough", added members of the Bundestag.

Nevertheless, to date, the Russian vaccine is used "in more than 50 countries of the world," the parliamentarians stated.

They also mentioned that some German politicians at different times spoke positively about "Sputnik V".

Taking into account the above, the members of the Bundestag turned to the German government with a list of questions.

In particular, they asked how the Cabinet assesses the Sputnik V vaccine and its possible production in Germany.

In addition, they asked if members of the government had made contact with the Russian state or Russian researchers who were involved in the development of the vaccine "to obtain further data on its clinical trials."

Earlier, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said that Germany is awaiting certification of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine in the European Union.

According to her, if this happens quickly, then there is a point in purchasing the drug.
