During his statements to several regional dailies on Thursday, Emmanuel Macron mentioned the establishment of a health pass in France from June 9.

But how is it going to work?

Europe 1 deciphers this new government measure to fight against the coronavirus.

The French will not escape a health pass.

This is one of the announcements made by Emmanuel Macron on Thursday in an interview with several regional dailies specifying the third national deconfinement.

This sesame, created to fight against the coronavirus, will therefore become a reality before the summer to access certain places.

It will be for the third stage of this gradual exit from the crisis, at the beginning of June.

To go see a football match in a stadium, attend a concert or stroll through the aisles of exhibitions and fairs, you will have to present a health pass, compulsory from June 9 to participate in all events bringing together up to 5,000 people.

No health pass for "everyday places"

But what is a health pass?

This certificate proves that the person had a negative PCR test less than 48 hours ago or that they are vaccinated.

This precious document can be found in the TousAntiCovid application, in the form of a QR code.

It will also be available in paper version, in which case it will be necessary to request a document from the caregiver who performed the test or vaccination.

On the other hand, the government does not wish to make it compulsory to access what it describes as "places of everyday life". The sanitary pass will therefore not be necessary to go for a drink on the terrace, to dine in a restaurant, to go to friends or to see a show at the theater or at the cinema. On the other hand, foreign tourists who would like to stay in France will have to present this health pass as soon as they arrive in the country, also from June 9.
