Schwerin (dpa / mv) - The left-wing parliamentary group in the Schwerin state parliament calls for the abolition of admission restrictions for teacher training courses due to a poor grade average.

As before, these blocked some of the courses, said parliamentary group leader Simone Oldenburg on Monday.

In the north-east, for example, the subjects biology, English and social studies are restricted in admission and can only be reached indirectly or not at all for those who have a lower grade average than others.

This means that other courses of study are being switched to and that the spaces are used as “parking facilities”, as the opposition party's application shows.

The admission restriction therefore does not regulate, it only postpones and relocates.

According to the provisional agenda, the state parliament in Schwerin will discuss the application this Thursday.
