"
My mind is completely lightened, I am serene and it is with joy that I return to my native land, to mine,
" Jeannette Koudou told RFI, on the eve of her
return to Côte d'Ivoire
.
Laurent Gbagbo's sister is due to return this Friday, April 30, the Ivorian Patriotic Front (FPI) announced on Wednesday.
In the plane that brings her back to Abidjan, she will be accompanied by five other executives from the party of the former Ivorian president: the former budget minister, Justin Katinan Koné, Adia Pikass, Tahi Étienne, Véhi Tokpa and Innocent Abouo.
"To those in power to initiate this reconciliation"
“
We come home with a light heart
,” says Jeannette Koudou, after ten years of exile in Ghana.
No rancor dwells in us, no bitterness dwells in us.
On the contrary, Laurent Gbagbo's sister says she is returning to Côte d'Ivoire in a spirit of reconciliation. “
Sometimes brothers fight. We fought, we will begin a period of reconciliation. It is up to those in power to initiate this reconciliation.
"
Jeannette Koudou says she learned from her difficulties: “
Everything is learning, we learn from everything, we learn from everything.
She believes that time has prepared people for this return.
“
Maybe if it had happened earlier, hearts were still warm, hearts were still on fire.
It is better for the idea of reconciliation to come after ten years, rather than never to come.
"
Obviously Jeannette Koudou intends soon to find her brother, whose return is expected soon in Côte d'Ivoire.
"
I am in the country, he is coming to the country, we are going to see each other, necessarily!
