Berlin (dpa) - According to the former national soccer player Dietmar Hamann, a title win by Julian Nagelsmann with RB Leipzig in the DFB Cup "certainly for his standing in front of the superstars" at his upcoming club FC Bayern would not be a disadvantage.

"Communication with world champions and triple winners will be a little easier," said TV expert Hamann in his column for Sky.

The 47-year-old, who had also played for FC Bayern in his career, described Nagelsmann's engagement as a great coup for the German record champions.

"But it won't be a sure-fire success for the young top coach, and the next five championships have not yet been won," said Hamann.

The time at Bayern would be “another, new world” for Nagelsmann.

After this season and only two years at RB Leipzig, the 33-year-old will take over the position of Hansi Flick, whose contract will be terminated at the request of last year's title collector.

In the DFB Cup semi-finals, Leipzig will play in the semi-finals at SV Werder Bremen this Friday.
