In connection with the storming of the apitolium in early January, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg decided to shut down the then US President Donald Trump "indefinitely".

"The shocking events that have taken place over the past 24 hours clearly show that Donald Trump plans to use his remaining time as president to undermine the peaceful and democratic transfer of power to his successor Joe Biden," Mark Zuckerberg said at the time.

Facebook has for several years been criticized for how they chose to handle the platform's moderation.

Therefore, Mark Zuckerberg appointed an independent external council, called the Supervisory Board, which will make decisions on complex moderation issues, and where users can turn to appeal Facebook's decisions.

The council was then tasked with deciding the future of President Donald Trump.

The decision-making process has taken time.

But now the council says on Twitter that on Wednesday the news of Donald Trumps will be allowed back on the platform - or not.
