Augsburg (dpa) - Returnees Markus Weinzierl relies on six well-known professionals from his past time with the Bundesliga club for his rescue mission as FC Augsburg's coach.

"I associate many positive experiences with the players I still know," said Weinzierl of the "Augsburger Allgemeine" (Friday).

The 46-year-old has been training with the FCA professionals for four years since the summer of 2012, last Monday he was introduced as the successor to Heiko Herrlich and given a contract until the end of June next year.

The Augsburgers occupy 13th place in the table with four points ahead of the relegation rank.

"If I ever have six who know what makes me tick, they also reach the others who get to know me," Weinzierl explained.

André Hahn, Jeffrey Gouweleeuw, Alfred Finnbogason, Jan Moravek, Raphael Framberger and Marco Richter are still there from his time.

«They are players who know my game idea and have confidence in it.

That's always an advantage, ”emphasized the former and current coach.
