Werdohl (dpa) - The rail technology group Vossloh benefited primarily from its China business in the first quarter.

The high sales in this area are mainly due to the pandemic-related postponement of deliveries to the year 2021, Vossloh announced on Thursday in Werdohl.

Accordingly, total sales in the first three months of the year rose by around 13 percent to 207.1 million euros.

At the beginning of the year, incoming orders fell slightly to EUR 260 million (previous year: EUR 291.9 million).

According to the SDax Group, operating earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) improved significantly to EUR 12.1 million after around EUR 900,000 in the same quarter of the previous year.

The bottom line was that Vossloh posted a profit of 6.1 million euros in the first quarter.

In the same period last year there was still a loss at this point.

The railway technology group confirmed the outlook for 2021.

Vossloh therefore continues to expect an EBIT margin of between 7 and 8 percent.

The turnover should be between 850 and 925 million euros.
