Salzburg (dpa) - RB Leipzig apparently has to invest part of its income from the change of coach Julian Nagelsmann to FC Bayern Munich in the commitment of the desired successor Jesse Marsch.

Its club Red Bull Salzburg confirmed negotiations with the Leipzigers about the amount of the transfer fee on Wednesday evening after the 1-1 draw in the Austrian soccer championship against Wolfsberger AC.

“Between the clubs, whenever something like that happens, it's about the transfer.

There is no exit clause.

Leipzig is interested in signing Jesse Marsch.

That's why there are these talks, "said sports director Christoph Freund on ORF.

Jesse Marsch, on the other hand, kept a low profile regarding an imminent move back to Bundesliga runner-up.

"Let's talk about it in a few days," said the 47-year-old American.

He appreciates his experience here in Salzburg so much.

Two years ago he was a young coach from America, whose name not many have heard, he said at Sky Austria.

He worked a lot in Salzburg and enjoyed so much and is very grateful, no matter what, for the whole experience.

"We're not finished yet," said Marsch.

Despite the draw against Wolfsberg, champions Salzburg are on course to defend their title.

After 28 of 32 match days as the championship leader, the cup winner has six points ahead of rivals Rapid Vienna.
